These mirrors were made using driftwood "chips" SC100, (SC100 is no longer available but
SC101 is similar) and a pine mirror frame from Michael's Crafts. The frames are about $9
for a 5x7 and $20 for the larger 14x18. They have other sizes as well. The frame was
stained to have a matching color, then many "chips" were glued to the frame and then
sprayed with 8 coats of clear acrylic.
There are about 80 pieces of "chips" on the larger frame filled in with about 25 very small
pieces. Total supply cost to make the larger mirror is $50 (20 for the mirror and 30 for
the wood "chips"). Glue, and stain are about $5 and will make several more mirrors /
frames.
Its a fun project and takes less time than you'd think. I did both of these in just a few
sittings each night.
